Make A Strong Spaghetti Bridge

What's Really Going On? What's really going on?

BOLD NATIVE screening in London, yesterday February 6, 2011

What's so good about Bold Native :

It's very Professionally made. It's a full-length film about how animals are currently treated, about how this makes us feel and the need to do something. A real film about animal rights and the evils of agribusiness. What could be better?

Well, what's so bad about Bold Native :

Some of the ideas presented in the film. The ideas that make the film: ALF-style activism, revenge and guerrilla war romanticism.

ALF-style activism is ineffective: It requires a lot of effort and you have to risk a lot for a small outcome (the definition of ineffective ). ALF-style liberations of animals do not achieve more than open rescues, plus you risk long prison sentences, plus you put public opinion against you. ALF-style "economic sabotage" does not help animals, it harms them by getting activists into prison.

Revenge is irrational: In the film the owner of a chain of slaughterhouses is kidnapped and tortured (Michael Tobias' Rage and Reason style). While this appropriately expresses how many people feel, it needs to be clearly stated that revenge is the final step of an irrational approach gone wrong. We need to be rational. Vivisectors and animal agribusiness capitalists are not the main problem or cause of animal suffering. The main problem are the consumers. The butcher or "farmer" is no more guilty than the consumer. Activism must be effective for animals, not a therapy to make activists feel better (and revenge generally does not make people feel better, nor can it be justified). What's is really going to make us feel better is helping animals.

Guerrilla war or Can you kill like Ché? : You don't want to be a real guerrillero anymore than you want to be a real pirate. The question is not whether guerrilla tactics are justified, the question is: are they effective?

So what's effective? Promoting veganism, exposing the horrible cruelties of animal farming (factory and traditional), exposing speciesism (an irrational and unjustified discrimination of nonhumans).
Tell me if I'm wrong.

BOLD NATIVE London premiere
positive for the film (the best first):
This film is very professional (and only four people!), A film full length feature film on animal rights, the current situation of the animals as they are exploited and treated and the need to do something, however, a Fim against the horrors animals. What could be better?

Negatives:

The ideas that make the movie actually: Animal Liberation Front (ALF) - activism, revenge and guerrilla war romance.

ALF activism is ineffective: a lot of effort and high risk for small Ergebnisse (die Definition von ineffektiv ).

Obwohl der Schrei nach Rache akkurat beschreibt, was viele empfinden, muss absolut klar be made that revenge is the last step in a very irrational approach. We must

be rational. Animal experimenters and industrialists of the meat industry are not the main problem or the main cause of animal suffering. Whether more or less "schudig" are is irrelevant. The main problem is the consumer. Activism must be effective for animals, not therapy for activists. What activists really helps to feel better, helping animals, ie effective activism.

guerrilla fight is a joke: None of us really wants to fight in a guerrilla The question is. not, something would be justified? The question is: Would such a thing effectively?

So what is effective activism? to live Vegan and spread veganism to show the cruelty of animal breeding (in factory farming and animal husbandry in any per se), speciesism detect and identify (an irrational discrimination against non-human animals).

BOLD NATIVE in London, February 6, 2011 Bold Native
What is good:

is very well made. It's a movie about how animals are treated today, about how this makes us feel and the need to do something. As such a movie about animal rights and the evil of the livestock industry. What better?

What is wrong with Bold Native:

Some

La venganza is irrational: In the movie the owner of a chain of slaughterhouses is kidnapped and tortured. While this expresses the way many people feel, should be clearly stated that revenge is the last step of an irrational approach went wrong. We need to be rational. Vivisectors and livestock industry people are not the main problem or the cause of animal suffering. The biggest problem is the consumer. The butcher or the farmer is no more "guilty" to the consumer. Must be effective activism for animals, not a therapy to make activists feel better (and revenge usually does not make people feel better, you can not justify). What we hace sentir mejor es ayudar a los animales.
